New WhatsApp Update Brings Threaded Replies for Better Group Chat Experience

WhatsApp Update

July 8, 2025: WhatsApp is testing a new feature designed to improve the user experience in group chats. The latest WhatsApp update brings threaded replies, allowing users to reply to specific messages within a dedicated thread. The feature is currently available in the beta version for iOS and is expected to launch soon across all devices.

According to WABetaInfo, the threaded replies feature has appeared in version 25.19.10.80 of the iOS beta. Earlier reports also confirmed testing on Android, indicating that WhatsApp plans to roll out the same update on both platforms.

This new WhatsApp update aims to fix a long-standing issue with group chats: conversation chaos. In busy groups, it can be difficult to keep track of who is replying to what. With threaded replies, each message that receives a response will show a small indicator showing the number of replies.

Tapping this indicator will open a new screen. This view will display the original message and all its replies in one place. Users will also be able to respond directly within this thread, keeping the conversation organized and easy to follow.

The feature is being described as a major step forward in improving communication in large groups. It will allow users to avoid confusion and quickly follow specific discussions without scrolling through hundreds of unrelated messages.

While the update is still under development, the presence of the feature in both iOS and Android betas suggests that a public release may be near. However, the final version could undergo further refinements before being rolled out to all users.

This WhatsApp update is one of the most requested by users and is expected to be a significant improvement for both casual and professional group interactions. WhatsApp has not officially announced a release date, but more details are likely to follow in the coming weeks.
