Later, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to boost ties with China in trade, investment, agriculture, minerals, and information technology. He noted the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for Pakistan’s growth and regional connectivity.
Sharif praised the progress of CPEC Phase-II and expressed appreciation for China’s consistent role in supporting Pakistan’s national development and security. He assured China of Pakistan’s full backing on its core issues.
The visits and meetings highlight the depth of the Pakistan-China relationship. With both military and civilian leadership engaged, the two countries signaled their intent to push cooperation further.
