Celsius Astro Vibe Recall Issued Over Accidental Alcohol Mix-Up

Celsius Astro Vibe Recall Issued Over Accidental Alcohol Mix-Up

A nationwide recall has been issued after some Celsius Astro Vibe energy drink cans were found to contain alcohol. The issue came to light when High Noon, a well-known canned vodka seltzer brand, discovered a packaging error. Some of its vodka products were mistakenly filled into Celsius-labeled cans.

The recall was officially announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on July 30, 2025. It affects select cans labeled as Celsius Astro Vibe, Sparkling Blue Razz flavor, which were filled with vodka seltzer instead of an energy drink.

How Did the Error Happen?

According to High Noon, a shared packaging supplier is responsible for the mix-up. The supplier mistakenly shipped empty Celsius cans to High Noon’s facility. These cans were then filled with vodka seltzer and distributed as part of High Noon’s Beach Variety 12-packs.

Though the label shows Celsius, the liquid inside some of these cans contains alcohol. The affected cans have a silver top, which is different from the usual black top found on actual Celsius energy drink products.

Where Were the Affected Products Sent?

The mislabeled cans were shipped to retailers in Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin between July 21 and July 23, 2025. Consumers in these states are being asked to check their purchases carefully.

If you recently bought a Celsius Astro Vibe can in one of these areas, especially the Sparkling Blue Razz flavor, you should look for a silver top. That may be a sign it contains alcohol.

Health Risks and Consumer Safety

The FDA warns that drinking these mislabeled cans may result in unintentional alcohol ingestion. This could pose health risks to children, pregnant individuals, or anyone avoiding alcohol for medical or personal reasons.

So far, no illnesses or injuries have been reported related to the Celsius Astro Vibe recall. Still, both the FDA and High Noon are urging consumers to not consume any suspicious cans and to dispose of them properly.

Why Is Celsius Being Recalled?

Although Celsius itself is not at fault, its brand is caught in the middle of the issue due to the labeling error. This is why some people are asking, “Why is Celsius being recalled?”

In truth, the recall is more accurately described as the High Noon Celsius Energy Drink recall, since it was High Noon that filled the cans.

The problem lies entirely in the mix-up by the packaging supplier and the accidental filling of Celsius-labeled cans with alcohol.

What Should Consumers Do?

Anyone who purchased Celsius Astro Vibe Sparkling Blue Razz cans during the affected period should:

  • Look for cans with silver tops
  • Avoid consuming the product if it looks suspicious
  • Report the issue to High Noon or the FDA
  • Dispose of the cans safely

High Noon has stated it is working to correct the problem and ensure such errors do not happen again. The company has also promised full cooperation with regulators.

A Serious but Unintentional Mistake

This case is a rare instance of two popular beverage brands, one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic, being linked due to a packaging error. The Celsius alcohol recall has raised awareness about the importance of proper labeling, especially when different beverage companies share suppliers.

It also raises questions about how similar incidents can be prevented in the future, especially when alcohol is involved. For now, the High Noon recall serves as a cautionary tale for the industry and consumers alike.
