FAISALABAD: Police have arrested a woman in Faisalabad for allegedly filing a false gang-rape complaint, officials confirmed on Friday.
The accused, identified as Aqsa, had claimed that four men, including Adnan and Danish, sexually assaulted her. According to police, she later retracted her statement during court proceedings and refused to undergo a DNA test. Authorities said this raised doubts about the authenticity of her allegations.
Investigators allege Aqsa accepted Rs. 500,000 from the accused in exchange for giving a statement in their favor. Police also stated that she provided a fake CNIC number and false personal details during the investigation.
Officials reported that two of her alleged accomplices, Naveed and Sajid, escaped from outside the court. Police have launched a search operation to arrest them. A case has been registered at People’s Colony Police Station under the Anti-Rape Act.
Police said the investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the accused’s actions and the role of her accomplices. Authorities warned that false rape accusations are a serious offense and undermine genuine cases.
In a separate case in Karachi, police arrested a man in connection with the rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in Khokhrapar. The incident occurred on July 11, 2025. Officials said the victim was sexually assaulted, subjected to violence, and killed.
A DNA test led police to the suspect, identified as Muhammad Huzaif, who is a neighbor of the victim. According to investigators, Huzaif confessed to the crime during interrogation.
