Indian Surveillance Drone Captured in Lahore

LAHORE – Police on Friday confirmed the capture of an Indian surveillance drone in the Jandiala Road area of Manawan, Lahore.

SP Cantt Qazi Ali Raza said the drone was a hexacopter model and is now in the custody of local authorities. Initial investigations suggest the device originated from across the border.

He added that sensitive intelligence agencies have begun a detailed probe into the matter. More information is expected once the investigation is complete.

This is not the first such incident. Earlier, the Pakistan Army intercepted and brought down an Indian quadcopter that had crossed into Pakistan’s airspace over the Line of Control in the Manawar sector of Bhimber.

Security officials said the drone was intended for reconnaissance. However, timely action by the army prevented the operation. Officials stressed that such incidents highlight the vigilance and readiness of Pakistan’s armed forces to counter any aerial intrusion.

The latest drone capture comes amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam incident. In its aftermath, India has issued several threats and engaged in provocative actions along the border.

Observers believe this recent attempt to breach Pakistan’s airspace reflects a continuation of these hostile tactics. Officials reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to defending its sovereignty and will respond decisively to any act of aggression.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as investigations continue.
