CTD Foils Major Attack in Jamshoro, Arrests Three Terrorists

Jamshoro CTD Arrests Terrorists, Foils Major Attack

JAMSHORO: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh successfully prevented a major terrorist attack in Jamshoro by arresting three suspects linked to the banned group SRA. The arrests came during an intelligence-based operation conducted on the night of August 28-29 near Bholari Road, Site Area Kotri.

The suspects were identified as Hanif Bhatt, Mashooq Rind, and Sher Ali. Law enforcement recovered hand grenades, explosives, prohibited weapons, and ammunition from their possession. Officials said the individuals were planning a significant attack on September 6, coinciding with Youm-e-Shuhada, a day commemorating martyrs.

According to CTD authorities, the arrested terrorists were also involved in attacks on cargo trailers traveling from Sindh to Punjab. Hanif Bhatt was a highly wanted terrorist by CTD Hyderabad and had previously escaped during an earlier operation. The group reportedly acted under instructions from Noor Chandio and received operational orders from Arbab Bheel via Halar Chang.

The CTD noted that another attack had been planned for August 14 in Hyderabad. This plot was also foiled due to strict security measures by law enforcement. Investigations revealed that the group had previously split into two factions, with several members of one faction, Aamir Latif Chang, Shoaib Chang, and Shaban Chang, already arrested.

Officials added that the suspects had recently reconciled and were planning sabotage on the Bholari railway track just a day before their arrest. Funding for the group was allegedly managed through Halar Chang. The CTD confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover further details and connections.

This operation underscores the vigilance of Pakistani security agencies in preventing terrorist activities and protecting public safety.
