The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced significant relief for electricity consumers in Karachi. Refund to Apply on Specific Consumer Categories

NEPRA clarified that if any bills for July 2025 are issued before the notification date, the refund will be included in the next billing cycle.

Any future difference in fuel cost will be adjusted once the tariff is officially determined and notified.
Relief Also Announced for Other Consumers
In addition to the K-Electric refund July 2025, NEPRA has also announced relief for customers of former WAPDA distribution companies (Discos). A refund of Rs. 0.49 per unit will be applied to Disco users in their July bills, based on fuel charge variations for May 2025.
This adjustment also excludes lifeline consumers, protected categories, EVCS, and prepaid tariff users. The Rs. 0.4952 per kWh reduction will be reflected in bills for electricity consumed in May.
NEPRA noted that if bills are printed before the announcement, the reduction will appear in the following month’s bill instead.
