ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is celebrating its 78th Independence Day along with Marka-e-Haq, marking the success of the 19-day military operation, Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, against India. The grand event is being held at Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad.

President Asif Ali Zardari attended the ceremony alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, service chiefs, and senior military officials. Ambassadors from friendly countries also joined the celebrations.

Federal ministers, members of parliament, and citizens from across the country attended the event. Notable participants included First Lady Aseefa Bhutto and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
