NADRA Begins Minority Registration Drive Ahead of National Minorities Day

NADRA Launches Minority CNIC Drive

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a nationwide registration campaign for minority communities.

The drive began on August 4 and will continue until August 11, 2025. It coincides with National Minorities Day, observed across Pakistan on August 11.

The aim of the campaign is to help individuals from minority groups obtain or renew their national identity cards. NADRA officials say this effort will support equal access to services such as education, healthcare, and voting.

To improve accessibility, NADRA has deployed Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs) in various areas. These vans will visit remote and urban regions, offering on-the-spot CNIC registration and renewal.

Citizens from minority communities can also visit nearby NADRA registration centers to take part in the campaign.

“This drive is part of NADRA’s inclusive service strategy,” said a NADRA spokesperson. “Every citizen has the right to identity and access to services.”

The campaign has been launched to ensure that no citizen is left behind, regardless of religion or ethnicity.

An official statement from NADRA read: “You are allowed to have the same rights as every other citizen.” The authority said it is committed to equal citizenship and national inclusion.

Minority leaders and human rights activists have welcomed the campaign. Many have called it an important step toward supporting marginalized communities in Pakistan.

The drive will run for one week and is part of NADRA’s larger digital inclusion vision. It aims to simplify the documentation process and promote social equality.

The Mobile Registration Vans are equipped with modern technology. They allow applicants to register or renew their CNICs without needing to visit NADRA offices.

NADRA is also urging eligible individuals to make use of this opportunity before the campaign ends on August 11.

Officials say that proper registration is key to ensuring minority citizens are counted and represented in national systems.

This campaign comes at a time when access to identification is essential for receiving public services, applying for jobs, and participating in democratic processes.

NADRA hopes the campaign will raise awareness among minority communities about the importance of having valid identity documents.

The authority has said it will continue working to make the registration process more inclusive and efficient across Pakistan.

As part of its long-term goals, NADRA plans to extend similar outreach programs to other underserved groups in the future.

National Minorities Day is observed annually to honor the contributions of Pakistan’s minority citizens. NADRA’s campaign has been aligned with this day to highlight the importance of equal rights and recognition for all.
