PM Laptop Loan Scheme 2025: Apply Online in Pakistan

The Government of Pakistan has launched the PM Laptop Loan Scheme 2025, a program designed to help students and young professionals access technology. The initiative provides laptops on easy, interest-free installments, making devices more affordable for those who cannot buy them upfront.

Officials have called the scheme a major step toward reducing the digital divide. By supporting access to technology, it aims to help young Pakistanis take part in online education, freelancing, and e-commerce opportunities.

Loan Categories

The scheme offers three tiers of loans based on laptop requirements. The Basic category provides up to PKR 150,000, the Medium category offers PKR 300,000, and the Advanced category goes up to PKR 450,000. All loans will be repaid in monthly installments spread across several years, without interest.

Eligibility Criteria

Only Pakistani citizens aged 18 to 35 are eligible to apply. This includes university students, freelancers, and young professionals. Priority will be given to those from low-income families. However, government employees cannot benefit from this program.

Required Documents

Applicants will need to upload the following documents on the official PM Youth Program portal:

  • CNIC (front and back)
  • Recent passport-size photo
  • Proof of income (salary slip or guardian’s income statement)
  • Educational certificates or proof of university admission
  • Freelancers can share their online profiles from platforms like Fiverr or Upwork

The entire process will be completed online to ensure fairness and transparency.

Purpose of the Scheme

The Laptop Loan Scheme is not just about providing devices. It is designed to promote digital literacy, encourage equal access to resources, and prepare Pakistan’s youth for the global digital economy. By offering a laptop loan for students and professionals, the government hopes to empower the next generation with tools needed to succeed in knowledge-driven industries.
