Samiya Hijab: TikToker Alleges Kidnapping Attempt, Death Threats

Samiya Hijab Alleges Kidnapping Attempt in Islamabad

TikTok influencer Samiya Hijab has alleged that she survived a kidnapping attempt in Islamabad. The incident has sparked fresh debate about women’s safety and harassment in Pakistan.

Samiya Hijab shared CCTV footage on her TikTok account, showing a man trying to push her into a white vehicle. She identified the suspect as Hassan Zahid, who she says began stalking her after she refused his marriage proposal.

According to her statement, Zahid showed up outside her home several times and issued death threats. During the recent incident, he allegedly snatched her phone. When she approached his car to retrieve it, she claims he forcibly pushed her inside and tried to drive away.

The influencer linked her ordeal to the tragic case of her friend Sana Yousuf, another TikToker who was shot dead in Islamabad in June 2025. Sana, only 17, was reportedly killed by a man after rejecting his advances. Samiya said she fears facing a similar fate, urging police not to let her case go ignored.

Samiya confirmed that she has filed a case with Islamabad Police, who have assured her of timely action. However, she appealed directly to the Inspector General of Police for stronger measures, stressing the need for effective protection for women in similar situations.

The Samiya Hijab kidnapping attempt has gained widespread attention on social media, with many users demanding justice. Advocates have also highlighted the growing risks faced by female influencers and the urgent need for legal reforms to curb stalking and harassment.

For now, authorities say they are investigating the case, but public pressure is mounting for swift and decisive action.
